Climate Law
Just as climate action involves all aspects of our lives, climate law engages all levels of governance. Thus, our research on climate change law looks into the global, international, European, Austrian and sub-national governance of climate change.
On the global and international level, our research focuses among others, on the interlinkages between world trade law and the international climate legal framework, legal aspects of the energy transition, international and comparative climate litigation.
On the EU level, we focus on EU energy, environmental and climate law, and on the comparison between the EU and other legal systems in those fields.
On the Austrian level, our research monitors and analyzes climate-related laws, e.g. in the energy and transport sectors, and provides input for its alignment with international climate targets.
Among others, our research touches upon the following areas:
- Environmental and energy law
- Climate litigation
- Participation to climate matters
- Interdisciplinary research on climate protection
- World Trade Law
