The talk was attended by a number of researchers, professors and academics from across the Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz Faculty of Law. Thank you to Professor Perez for sharing your research with us. We were truly honoured to have such an inspirational and insightful academic to kickstart our Roundtable Talk series. We look forward to seeing your developments in the field of global governance structures.

He was previously the Dean of the Bar Ilan University | Faculty of Law. He is also the Founding Director of the SSRN-Hebrew Research Network (HRN) and the Co-director of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on Digital Governance. His main research fields include #environmentalregulation #transnationallaw #legaltheory #edemocracy #globalization.
Professor Perez delivered a talk on his paper titled: “Transnational networked authority”, published earlier this year in the Leiden Journal of International Law. In his paper Professor Perez looked into the significant changes regarding the structure of the global governance system, which include: the development of the global governance system into a hybrid field in which a plethora of public, private, and semi-public institutions interact in various ways. In his article, Professor Perez responds to the challenges associated with such a shift by developing a new model of transnational legal authority. According to his suggested model, the emergence of transnational networked authority is dependent on the existence of a multi-layered structure of strongly connected transnational regimes.
