Prof. Dr Tetiana Drakokhurst (Department of Theory of Law and Constitutionalism, Faculty of Law, West Ukrainian National University, Ternopil) spoke at the Round Table ClimLaw on 29.10.2025 on the topic of “Climate and Energy Law in Ukraine: Challenges and Green Recovery in Times of War”. The presentation explored the development of climate and energy law in Ukraine under wartime conditions. It focused on the main legislative acts related to renewable energy and energy efficiency, the impact of the war on energy security and environmental policy, and the prospects for Ukraine’s “green recovery” and integration into the European Green Deal framework. Discussed had been, among others, the availability of green energy sources, the legal conditions for the (green) decentralisation of the energy system (single producers, energy communities) and the transformation to a green hydrogen market.
