Marina Ferenczy

Marina Ferenczy is Project Coordinator (Postdoctoral Researcher) at ClimLaw: Graz, University of Graz, and a Researcher at the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. She holds a dual PhD from the University of São Paulo in Sciences and the University of Ferrara, Italy, in Environmental Sustainability and Wellbeing (with distinction), and was a Visiting Researcher at the Centre for Social Studies (CES) of the University of Coimbra, Portugal.

Her interdisciplinary research bridges climate law, environmental justice, political ecology and international environmental law, with a particular focus on Global South and decolonial perspectives, Epistemologies of the South, Ecologies of Knowledges and the Pluriverse. She is particularly interested in political ecology, sustainability transformations and transformative change, environmental governance, and the role of law in promoting more just, plural and intercultural responses to the climate and biodiversity crises. 

She recently had a research project approved by CONFAP (Brazil) to collaborate as a Visiting Researcher with the ERC-funded TwinPolitics project at the University of Vienna, further developing her research on environmental governance and climate justice.
